This site was created to provide information to you and also to help you through the process if you decide to choose surgery as treatment for your morbid obesity. If you are simply seeking information, all the information on this site, as well as links to other educational sites, are available to you without registration or cost. If you would like, you can register as an “educational member”, which would mean that you would receive periodic emails about new information about morbid obesity or links to new educational sites. Your name and contact information would be kept confidential and would never be sold to or used by any entity outside of this site, and the content of the emails would be strictly of an educational nature. You may request at any time to be removed from this list, and your record will be deleted.

For Surgery
If you have educated yourself enough and feel that surgery is right for you, you can register as a “surgical candidate” to be evaluated by our bariatric surgeon. By doing so you are agreeing to allow this site to help you through the insurance process. Please realize that we are located in Lubbock, TX and that your operation will occur in Lubbock, TX if you are an appropriate candidate and you choose to proceed. Your BMI will be calculated and if it is 35 or greater, you will be allowed to proceed through the process to then determine if other criteria are met. You will be asked to fill out forms as well as take an online psychological screen. Every step outlined under the section on “Insurance” will be followed and the appropriateness of the surgery for you will be determined. All information will remain strictly confidential and can only be viewed by yourself, medical caregivers, insurance specialists helping you through the process and your insurance company. If at any time you change your mind and decide not to go forward with seeking surgical treatment, your file will be closed and your records secured.
